I showed very little restraint during the Spring Sephora VIB Sale and picked up quite a few bits. That 15% off really roped me in this year!
One thing I’ve been so excited about using since it arrived is the Hourglass Illume Sheer Color Trio
I find the best way to apply these products is with medium to small synthetic face brushes. My personal favourites are the Real Techniques ones.
The bronzer on the left is a great shade for my fair/light skin tone. I wouldn’t use it to contour but it’s a nice, relatively neutral bronze shade, perfect on the cheekbones, temples and across the top of the forehead.
The blush in the middle is a gorgeous everyday pink with a slightly peach undertone that works great for Spring/Summer.
The highlight on the right is quite subtle but I really like that about it. It works best blended out over the high-points of the face. I buff it on lightly with a brush for large areas of the face or dab it with my ring finger on smaller areas. I usually apply it across the top of the cheekbones, in the inner corners of the eyes, down the bridge of the nose, cupid’s bow, and even lightly above the eyebrows. It’s a subtle but noticeable sheen that really compliments the bronzer and blush.
The only downside to this palette is the size. It’s a bit smaller than I expected. I’m not sure how deep the pans are but I have a sneaking suspicion they’re not very big… I’ll keep you updated on how long it lasts me.
Hourglass definitely knocked it out of the park when it comes to the quality and colour selection on this one. For $75 (Canadian), that’s what I would expect.
I’d love to know if you have any favourites for bronzer, blush or highlight this season!
