Current Beauty Must-Haves | Mini-Review

Welcome back, everyone!

I’ve put together a small pile of my current must-have products. Some of them are staples that I’ve repurchased many times, and others are new found loves. There are many more in my stash but one blog post for all of them would be huge! I look forward to doing more posts like this in the future.

I need these!
I need these!

I think I’ll go in the order I do my makeup so we’ll start with a moisturizer.

my holy grail moisturiser...
my holy grail moisturizer…

Origins GinZing Energy-Boosting Moisturizer: This is a product I’ve repurchased multiple times and it was my introduction to the Origins range. I am obsessed with this! It’s a gel cream formula with an incredible orange scent. It moisturizes effectively while being lightweight and non-greasy. It’s also a fantastic base for makeup. I love it for my oily, acne prone skin.

a primer that does what it says...

Maybelline Master Prime in 300 (Blur + Redness Control): This primer has a slight green tinge that helps cancel out redness and yes, it does blur imperfections slightly. It’s not a miracle product but it does what it says and helps my makeup last a few hours longer than when I go without.

my first NARS product...
my first NARS product! sorry it’s so grubby, it is well loved…

NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation¬†in Mont Blanc: The name of this foundation is somewhat misleading. This foundation is all day (a workday, at least), and definitely weightless, but it is not luminous. For me, that’s a wonderful thing! I have very oily skin and this foundation resists shine for an incredible amount of time without touch-ups. It has medium to full coverage and is buildable. Be sure to moisturize as this product does cling to dry patches.

best powder I've used...
best powder I’ve used… ignore the dent (accidentally stuck my nail into it, *sob*)

Make Up For Ever HD Pressed Powder: The thing I like best about this powder is that it doesn’t alter the colour of my foundation or add any extra coverage. There are some days when I want more coverage/colour but on the days I don’t, this powder is perfection! It softens the look of my skin and never looks cakey. It also keeps me matte for hours on end without touch ups. This is a new love and one I know I’ll continue reaching for.

another holy grail, this time for brows...
another holy grail, this time for brows…

Benefit Gimme Brow in Medium/Deep: This tinted gel has fibers that add volume to my brows. Whether I’m using it over a powder, gel, or pencil product, it goes on like a dream and adds definition back to the individual hairs. It doesn’t have any red pigment which keeps everything looking a natural shade. When I use it on its own, it looks fantastic as well. This will forever be in my collection.

holy grail eye shadow by far...
holy grail eye shadow by far…

Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze (or On and On Bronze in the UK): In case you didn’t know, I’m from Canada! Despite the name differences, this cream eyeshadow is an absolute necessity to me. The colour looks a little darker in the picture than it actually is. It’s a lovely shimmery (not glittery) gold/bronze. I swipe a bit of this on my lids and it stays put for 8 hours. I don’t even use an eye shadow primer. I wear this on a daily basis unless I decide to try something new for fun.

waterproof mascara is new to my collection...

L’Oreal Telescopic Shocking Extensions Mascara¬†in Waterproof Blackest Black: I bought this mascara during a recent drugstore haul and have been amazed with it! It holds a curl all day and into the night, adds tons of length and great separation. It’s a bit more difficult to remove but I think it’s definitely worth the effort!

an "out of my comfort zone" lipstick...
an “out of my comfort zone” lipstick…

Maybelline Color Sensational Lipcolor in Let Me Pink: I normally go for nudes or reds when it comes to lipstick. I decided to venture out of my comfort zone with this one and I’m so glad I did! It’s a wonderful flush of pink on my lips that I’m absolutely loving for spring. It’s not shimmery and has a velvet finish on me. The lasting power is quite good and when it does fade, it leaves a stain of colour on the lips that still looks nice.

Alright everyone, I think I’ve bombarded you with enough favourites for now. I’ll keep you updated on my current favourites and I hope you’re all having a great week so far!
